Up about 8:20 today – slowly improving! Had breakfast in the room and then made our way out to Hollywood studios at around 10.
Wow, I am really so over the massive long walk to get into the park from the car park! All in the baking sunshine with no shade too. We queued up to go through backcheck and the lines were like nothing I have ever seen at Hollywood studios before. We ended up all getting separated and it took about 20 minutes for us to get back together 🙈🙈 helps if parents answer their mobile phones 🙄
First stop of course was the new Toy Story Land! My goodness I have never seen anything so busy, in fact we didn’t even stop and we came straight back out again and into the first air-conditioned place we found which was one man’s dream. We had a little look around and watch the new preview of the nutcracker.
Suitably cooled down we actually headed back into the Toy Story area as I had found out a friend was going to be there, so we wanted to go watch the Green Army Men.
What I didn’t expect today was to be dragged up for army training with the little kiddies 🤦🏼♀️ personal highlight doing ‘heads, shoulders, knees and toes’ and worrying I was bending forward in my dress and all the audience getting an eyeful 🙈🙈🙈 mental note to hunt my friend down and kill him for that 😆😆
Afterwards it was time to ride Slinky Dog Dash, Anne decided to sit it out but I made my mum ride even though she didn’t really want to ha! She loved it though so I don’t feel bad 😜 I really loved it too, much more intense than what I’d read online. Can’t wait to go again.
We were then all starving so we made our way to ABC commissary. Mobile ordering is the best though it took ages to be ready today. Simon had the mediterranean salad as our friend had it last time and he got serious food envy. I went for the chicken fingers.
Fuelled up and ready to go we decided to head out of the park, honestly the heat was killing us and it was SO busy! We decided to head over to celebration for a mooch about. A look in Woofgang bakery, and then into Kilwins for an ice cream to share – don’t make the rookie error of getting one each as not only will it cost you a fortune, they are massive so you’ll never finish a whole one.
We then popped to my favourite publix at celebration. A few thing bought – more water mainly, and then back to the hotel.
Wore the parents out again…
When we arrived back it was absolutely throwing it down so we unpacked the shopping at the lobby and Simon decided to valet park so he didn’t have to get drenched walking back from the car.
We chilled in the room for a bit and I went for a nap. We were heading back out at 5:50 instead of the 5:30 we were supposed to be leaving #watsontime Simon decided at 5:32 that he was going to START shaving 🙄
We were only about 10 minutes late luckily. We were meeting our friends at Hamburger Mary’s for Drag Queen bingo! Brandon and Billy, and Billy’s mom, and Sherri and her mom. We had a table right next to the stage so as you can imagine we were the rowdy table they kept picking on haha. Carol Lee and Miss Sammy are just the best! If you ever get the chance to go on a Tuesday, do it! Though maybe leave the kiddos at home… can be an adult atmosphere on a Tuesday evening (Sunday brunch is more of a family affair).
Sherri won the grand prize of a $25 hamburger Mary’s gift card 😍
Back in the car and home by 10:30. Washing on and in bed by 11pm.
Tomorrow, well the plan said Animal Kingdom with Tusker House breakfast only I’ve been up all night poorly so that’s off the plan 😔 think I might have the start of flu 😔
Tune into tomorrow to see what we got up to instead.
