Now if there’s one thing Simon truly loves on vacations to Walt Disney world it is sampling all the extremely tasty burger offerings across the Resorts and parks. So why not summarise the current top 10 favourite taste sensations available?! A mixture of both quick service and table service fayre, these are in no particular order, just make your choice and enjoy!!
Bison Cheeseburger, Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
A Succulent bison burger in a brioche bun, topped with Tillamook Cheddar, sweet onion straws, lettuce, tomato and a surprising sweet fruity tang from the Marion berry barbecue sauce, this burger is a really tasty offering here. The recently refurbished patio space at this Little QS location is a great find And a lovely spot to watch the boats go by on Bay lake whilst enjoying an accompanying beer or two!
Grilled Wagyu Beef Burger, The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Although this comes in at the most expensive offering on the list as it’s at a signature restaurant offering, it would be for those guests who want to pamper themselves on their trip or can’t stand to miss out on a burger even when fine dining!! The offering is A juicy Grilled Wagyu Beef Burger topped with Gruyere Cheese, pastrami, tomato, avocado and (surprisingly) a fried egg all held together by a toasted brioche bun and dressed with a Cognac- Mustard Aioli. A real treat for those with spare table service credits!
Southern Burger, D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs
With the culmination of the multi phase reimagining of Downtown Disney into Disney springs nearing full completion, it was a great decision to include a dedicated burger location at Disney springs and it certainly offers some amazing burgers. My current choice would be the southern burger featuring a flavour rich Signature Blend Beef patty (brisket, angus, chuck and short rib mix) topped with a Fried Green Tomato, Pimento cheese, Lettuce, Grilled Onion and Bacon, but honestly any burger here is extremely good. It’s a great location noted by the often lengthy queues, but absolutely worth the wait!
Lobster Thermidor Burger, Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Sometimes overlooked for dinner but offers some pleasant views of the rose gardens and relaxing surroundings of the resort. The Grand Floridian Cafes artisanal burger patty is topped with a luscious lobster-parmesan thermidor sauce on a seared brioche bun. The Parmesan crunch adds a lovely texture. It’s also served with a side of their delicious chunky signature seasoned French fries. The Great thing is that this burger is available at lunch and dinner seatings and if you love a burger piled high with seafood then jump on it!!
Teriyaki-Glazed Angus Burger, Oasis Bar & Grill at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Located behind the magicband secured gated oasis pool area at the Polynesian resort, this is the only location to source A real Cast member favourite and hidden gem of a burger on property. Featuring an Angus chuck burger glazed with terikayi marinade and then topped with a slice of Pork Belly and Grilled Pineapple, this is heavenly. The combination of juicy sweetness mixed with the salty ness of the pork belly it’s not hard to see why this is a real favourite! Probably the best hidden gem on the list due to its ‘poly guests only’ status!
Azteca burger, Pepper Market at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
This is a real hidden gem of a burger as it’s sold at Pepper market which is somewhere not often ventured to by regular park guests but definitely worth the stop in. With a big 1/2 lb Burger, Fried Onions, Fried Jalapeños, Guacamole, Chipotle Aïoli and Pepper Jack Cheese this tex-Mex style sandwich is loaded with textures and flavours and makes it one of the best on property. To top it all off it’s served with the tastiest Garlic Parmesan Fries on the side too. Definitely drop in!
Smokehouse Burger, ESPN Club at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort
Who doesn’t love eating a burger while watching sport and having a few beers?
A sports bar like ESPN club as you would expect, should offer some great burgers for its visitors and it delivers a wide selection to satisfy the pre, mid and post game hunger! Although there are some really tasty offerings here such as The Reuben and Crunch burgers, the smokehouse burger is my choice here.
Featuring a grilled angus beef patty topped with smoked Tillamook cheddar, chipotle aïoli, onion straws and smoked bacon sandwiched together on an onion bun. There are also other great offerings here as well with a number of chicken and other sandwiches so comes highly recommended.
Beaches Patty Melt & Angus Beef Burger, Beaches & Cream at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
The small table service vintage soda-shop-diner has been a long standing Walt Disney world favourite for its simple guest favourite burgers (as well as the notorious kitchen sink sundaes!). The big problem? They have two great variations featuring the same beef patty. You can either opt for the burger “straight-up” served classically on a butter-grilled bun with a pickle or you can take it up a notch with the Beaches Patty Melt. Topped with sautéed onions, Swiss cheese, and garlic-peppercorn ranch dressing and served on grilled rye bread. Simplistic Perfection either way!
Kobe Beef Burger, Yak & Yeti restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Featuring a Asian inspired offering of a juicy grilled American Kobe beef burger in a ciabatta style bun it comes Topped with choice of shiitake mushrooms and scallion compote or Asian slaw with sesame-soy mayonnaise on the side. I go for the Asian slaw topping for mine. This option came highly recommended from friends of mine and certainly doesn’t disappoint at this little hidden gem of a restaurant. The seasoned French Fries on the side are pretty tasty too!
The Art Burger, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs
The Homecoming restaurant was a firm favourite of ours when we visited shortly after it had opened and it remains a top choice if nothing more than to get the amazing famous fried chicken! However it has also turned-out some extremely lush burgers and sandwiches too. If it wasn’t for the removal of the “Hamilton” off the menu, that would have taken this place on the list, however this is a more than worthy replacement.
Two beef patties topped with American cheese, Art’s special sauce, tomato-bacon jam, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on a brioche bun, a juicy and classic tasting burger pepped up with the bacon jam and option to add on some pecan-smoked bacon. Very lovely, full of flavour. To make things better, there is Also a selection of southern sides here which can also be swapped out for the more than satisfying house-made barbecue chips.
We would love to hear your opinions on your favourite burgers or sandwiches across Walt Disney World and will Catch you all for another foodie instalment soon!
